Middle School Social Studies (5-6) Program Description

At the Frances Xavier Warde School (FXW), our 5th through 6th grade social studies program provides students with a rigorous curriculum. Our inquiry-based learning approach engages students in investigations that build knowledge in History, Civics, Geography, and Economics. Researched-based practices and curricular materials provide culturally responsive instruction. Teaching strategies support student voice and choice to connect with their interests and experiences.

• Master's degree in Social Studies or related field.
• Teaching certification in Illinois.
• Experience in teaching social studies to middle school students.
• Ability to utilize technology in the classroom.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
