Rivermont Collegiate seeks an innovative, student-centered Technology Teacher to inspire curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving in students through engaging technology instruction.
The successful candidate will teach technology classes in the Lower School, lead robotics programming and competitions, manage and expand the school's 3D printing and makerspace initiatives, and foster computational thinking and digital citizenship across grade levels.
This educator will help students become confident creators, critical thinkers, and responsible users of technology while supporting Rivermont Collegiate's mission of academic excellence, innovation, and individualized learning.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lower School Technology Instruction:
- Design and deliver engaging technology curriculum for students in PreK–Grade 5.
- Teach age-appropriate technology skills, including:
- Keyboarding and productivity tools
- Coding and computational thinking
- Digital citizenship and online safety
- Multimedia creation and digital storytelling
- Research and information literacy
- Emerging technologies and creative problem-solving
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and developmental levels.
- Assess student progress and communicate effectively with families and faculty.
- Robotics Program Leadership:
- Develop and lead robotics instruction and extracurricular opportunities.
- Coach student robotics teams and prepare students for competitions and showcases.
- Introduce students to engineering design principles, programming, automation, and teamwork.
- Manage robotics equipment, inventory, maintenance, and budgeting.
- Foster enthusiasm for STEM through hands-on learning experiences.
- 3D Printing & Makerspace Innovation:
- Oversee school makerspace resources and equipment.
- Teach students the fundamentals of 3D printing and makerspace technology.
