POSITION DESCRIPTION: This role supports the Engineering Thinking Program at Town School for Boys by maintaining tools and equipment, facilitating student Open Studio sessions and developing instructional and safety resources within a K-8 mentorship environment. This role also assists with curricular development by collaborating with the Engineering Program Lead to integrate resources into the broader curriculum and supporting school-wide efforts to evolve teaching practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Instructional Resource Development

  • Collaborate with the Engineering Program Lead to integrate resources into the broader curriculum and support our school-wide efforts to evolve our teaching practices through methodologies such as Understanding by Design.
  • Design and develop self-guided materials (tutorials, project guides, safety checklists, etc.)
  • Maintain tools and equipment for the Engineering Thinking Program.
  • Facilitate student Open Studio sessions.
  • Develop instructional and safety resources within a K-8 mentorship environment.

Requirements

  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to design and develop instructional resources.
  • Experience with Understanding by Design methodologies.
  • Ability to maintain tools and equipment.
  • Experience working with students in a K-8 mentorship environment.
