Upper Elementary School Teacher

Located in Foster City, Ronald C. Wornick Jewish Day School is a pluralistic community day school for students from TK through 8th grade. We are a warm and welcoming community with a collaborative team focused on bettering our school, supporting our students and welcoming our families.

We are seeking an upper elementary school teacher (3rd-5th) for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will serve as a teacher in our elementary school and will be responsible for teaching ELA, Social Studies, Math, and Science. We are seeking an experienced teacher who has knowledge of progressive educational environments.

The elementary school teacher will:

• Provide an instructional program based on the needs of each student
• Implement our school adopted programs as the base curriculum for the grade
• Design engaging curriculum that supports the base curriculum and meets the school’s guiding principles, including but not limited to Project Based Learning, design thinking, performance-based assessment
• Create and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and other teachers
• Differentiate effectively for diverse learners in the classroom
• Assess students learning frequently and effectively to ensure grade level standards are being met
• Create engaging lesson and unit plans under the supervision of the Assistant Head of School and other educational leaders at the school
• Document student learning and report home frequently on student assessments and progress
• Utilize multi-modal methods of instruction and learning in recognition of the diverse ways students learn
• Assist the administration in creating a respectful school environment in support of the behavioral and cultural policies of the school
• Provide appropriate and engaging individualized work for students in support of plans created with parents, tutors, aides and specialists

• Experience in teaching upper elementary school students (3rd-5th grade)
• Knowledge of progressive educational environments
• Ability to design engaging curriculum and lesson plans
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Project Based Learning, design thinking, and performance-based assessment
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
