SDJA seeks a Middle School Math Teacher (Long-term Substitute) to cover a leave of absence. This is a temporary full-time position expected to run from approximately August through January.
The successful candidate will bring an engaging, student-centered approach to teaching mathematics and a genuine love of working with middle school students.
They will help students build confidence and fluency in math while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
The ideal candidate knows how to make math approachable and meaningful, supporting a range of learners while encouraging students to take risks, ask questions, and develop a positive relationship with mathematics.
A bachelor's degree and prior teaching experience is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
This is a temporary full-time position expected to run from approximately August through January. In accordance with California law, employees in this role are eligible for paid sick leave.
