The O’Neal School in beautiful Southern Pines / Pinehurst, North Carolina seeks a qualified Middle School Mathematics Teacher for the 2026 -2027 academic year.
The major responsibility of the position is to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program according to the guidelines provided by the O’Neal School curriculum which guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
Responsibilities include:
Have knowledge of, uphold, model, and communicate the mission of The O’Neal School.
Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons appropriate to each class.
Assess, record, and report on the development and progress of students.
Stay abreast of developments in the field through reading, research, and professional development, including faculty development days.
Ensure safe use of equipment in the classroom.
Liaise and collaborate with colleagues, including Division Head, Department Chairs, fellow teachers, counselor, and other resources.
Participate in sponsorship of student extracurricular activities.
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on math.
Previous experience teaching math at the middle school and/or upper school level preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills related to interactions with students, parents, and fellow teachers.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Attention to detail, strong organization skills, and an adherence to timeliness.
