About (HS)²

The High School High Scholar Program (HS)², is a five-week, residential, STEM-focused summer academic program designed to prepare high-achieving, first-generation and/or low-income high school students for college success. Scholars live on campus, complete rigorous coursework, and develop the academic, social, and independent living skills needed to thrive in higher education.

Position Overview

Residential Advisors/Teaching Assistants (RAs/TAs) play a central role in supporting students across all aspects of their residential and academic experience. This is a high-energy, immersive position that combines overnight dormitory supervision, in-class academic support, and mentorship in a close-knit campus community. RAs/TAs work closely with faculty and program leadership to foster a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve on overnight dormitory duty three nights and mornings per week, plus three full weekends; bathroom facilities and common spaces are shared with students
  • Assist faculty as a Teaching Assistant for up to two hours per day, five days per week, in one of the following areas: Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Writing, or College Counseling
    • Some positions may support Active Curriculum in lieu of classroom TA duties
  • Support students during evening study hall three nights per week
  • Chaperone off-campus activities and transport students using a 14-passenger vehicle (training provided)
  • Serve as a mentor and point of contact for students navigating academic, social, and residential challenges
