Description

The Greenhills School Science Department seeks a passionate and skilled science educator to teach two sections of AP Physics (C-Mechanics) and two sections of Physics during a replacement leave.

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in the sciences and a deep understanding of physics at the advanced placement level, with the ability to engage students in rigorous, inquiry-based study.

At Greenhills, the Science Department guides students toward a meaningful understanding of science’s unifying concepts and the methods by which scientists explore and explain the natural world.

The successful candidate will find great joy in working with adolescents and will demonstrate a passion for helping students develop sophisticated mathematical reasoning and laboratory skills through student-centered and hands-on learning experiences.

Preference will be given to candidates who:

  • Hold a degree in physics or a closely related science field
  • Have prior experience teaching AP Physics or upper-level secondary physics courses
  • Have completed coursework in teacher preparation and/or secondary science education
  • Have experience working with adolescents in academic settings

Requirements
