Upper School Spanish Teacher

The Sayre School is seeking a highly motivated and qualified full-time teacher who desires a professional and fun working environment dedicated to student growth, progress, and achievement. Job responsibilities, expectations, and opportunities include:

  • Teaching 5 classes in Upper School Spanish that may include Spanish 1 through AP, depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate.
  • Three years of high school experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with language proficiency testing (STAMP, AAPPL, etc.)
  • Use differentiated instruction to prepare students for the next grade level.
  • Working with a group of advisees and supporting the social-emotional needs of students.
  • Serving on committees.
  • Working collaboratively within the department and Upper School as a whole.
  • Supervision duties.
  • Leading/co-leading extracurricular activities, trips, and clubs.
  • Support students with learning needs based on their Individualized Learning Plans.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Spanish or a related field.
  • Three years of high school teaching experience.
  • Familiarity with language proficiency testing (STAMP, AAPPL, etc.).
  • Ability to work with students of varying skill levels and learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
