Position Description:

Applewild is opening a new 50,000 square foot athletic and wellness center in November 2026. When this fully-funded new facility is open, it will feature two basketball courts, a 6-lane swimming pool, 4 squash courts, a strength and conditioning room, virtual golf, visiting team locker rooms, full commercial laundry, as well as a gorgeous new student center. This state-of-the-art facility allows our school to offer unparalleled athletic offerings in keeping with our mission to nurture curious learners and empower them to lead with confidence, courage, and humanity. To leverage this opportunity, the school is prioritizing the growth of key athletic programs. We want to have strong programs that will attract serious and talented athletes to our school. We seek ambitious and entrepreneurial coaches to direct the development of these key programs. The position may be full or part-time, and the coach may utilize Applewild’s facilities for club/AAU team development.

We are seeking a coach to direct the development of our key athletic programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coaching and a passion for developing young athletes. The coach will be responsible for developing and executing high-quality workouts and skill development practices, prioritizing player safety, well-being, and sportsmanship at all times. The coach will also serve as a positive role model and mentor for students, promoting collaboration, self-control, respect, and teamwork.

The coach will work with AAU and other “feeder” programs to ensure the Applewild day and junior boarding program is known amongst coaches and parents seeking high quality athletic and academic preparation for secondary school. The coach will identify opportunities for the School to be “seen” by coaches, parents, and prospective athletes, including finding the appropriate social media, training facilities, sponsorships, event participation, as well as networking with influential people/programs.
