The Position
Mount Tamalpais School (MTS) seeks a full-time 7th- and 8th-grade science parental leave Teacher and Advisor from August 17 to October 30, 2026. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of teaching experience and a B.A./B.S. in a relevant field.
A successful candidate in this position will:
- Exhibit a passion for content knowledge and a range of effective pedagogical approaches for the subject and age group.
- Demonstrate commitment to equitable and culturally responsive teaching practices so that every student can see themself in their classroom, the curriculum, and the pedagogy.
- Cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and challenging learning environment that reflects the MTS values and allows a diverse student body to grow and thrive.
- Integrate technology in effective ways that enhance students’ learning experiences and growth.
- Possess a growth mindset and commitment to personal and professional development.
- Collaborate effectively with other community members both within their own department and in the School community as a whole.
- Serve as an advisor who is committed to the social and emotional development of students and community building.
- Communicate with students and families regularly through school platforms and email.
- Support grade-level events.
