Descriptionde Toledo High School, a vibrant and innovative independent high school, is seeking a dynamic Associate Director of College Counseling and Associate Dean of Academic Advisement.
This position is a key member of the College Counseling team and will provide college counseling and academic advising to students and families, perform administrative tasks that support students in their college search process, and promote the success of the school’s overall college counseling and academic advising programs.
The Associate Director of College Counseling and Associate Dean of Academic Advisement reports to the Director of College Counseling and Dean of Academic Advisement. This is a 12-month position with a preferred start date of July 1, 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Work with a caseload of 30–35 students in grades 9–12 as their college counselor and academic advisor.
- Educate families about individual colleges and universities, the college application process, trends in higher education, and standardized testing.
- Assist students with all phases of the college application process, including but not limited to: researching colleges, providing essay feedback, guiding extracurricular representation, demonstrating interest to colleges, and navigating standardized testing.
- Write a letter of recommendation for each assigned senior and submit all necessary school-related documents to colleges in advance of relevant application deadlines.
- Provide academic planning and advisement for course selection for each student in assigned grade level cohorts.
- Participate in group presentations to parents, students, faculty, and administration.
- Assist in the coordination of PSAT, SAT, ACT, and AP exam administrations, as needed.
- Assist in planning and executing college-related events and programs.
