Position Summary: Carolina Preparatory Academy (Carolina Prep) seeks a Middle Years Programme (MYP) English Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year beginning August 2026. Under the general direction of the Director of Middle & Upper School, the ideal candidate will provide engaging and rigorous instruction in English Language and Literature to students in grades 6–10 within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme framework. The MYP English Teacher will inspire students to become thoughtful readers, effective communicators, and critical thinkers while fostering academic excellence, creativity, and personal growth in a student-centered learning environment.
Overview: Established in 1974, Carolina Preparatory Academy is a vibrant and exceptional independent Montessori and International Baccalaureate (IB) World School institution in the Triangle area serving 400+ students aged 15 months through 18 years. The school is committed to the intellectual, ethical, and personal development of our students. Our Montessori programs for Toddler - Upper Elementary students (15 months - grade 6) are located on a beautifully-designed campus situated on 10 acres in North Raleigh, comprising five buildings in a child-centered, village-like setting surrounded by wetlands and protected forest. Our International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma programmes for middle and high school students (grades 6 - 12) are housed on an expansive 40-acre wooded campus in the Brier Creek neighborhood of Durham.
