We believe that good teachers set high standards for their students and do everything they can to help them achieve them. Associate Teachers work closely with the Lead Teacher in our PreK3-Grade 5 classrooms, collaborating on all aspects of classroom life. This includes collaborating with the Lead Teacher, working directly with students, typically being assigned particular subject areas to plan and implement lessons, and supporting classroom and school life.
The Benjamin School is seeking a Lower School Associate Teacher for our North Palm Beach campus. Associate teachers are welcomed into a collegial, supportive environment, introduced to a variety of effective teaching styles, and offered an array of professional development opportunities, including seminars and outside speakers.
Associate Teachers are full members of the Lower School teaching teams, preparing and delivering lessons in social studies, sciences, and other subject areas.
We are looking for Associate Teachers actively exploring or pursuing careers in education, with the ultimate goal of becoming a Lead Teacher. Associates are expected to learn pedagogy and curriculum content, and to increase their level of planning and instruction independence over time.
The Associate Teacher will work with small groups and lead instruction using curriculum and learning experiences that inspire intellectual curiosity and a sense of wonder in students. Structures for this include close planning, observation, and feedback with Lead Teachers, as well as goal-setting and other meetings with the Lower School Administration, Mentors, and Curriculum Coordinators.
