Lower School Associate Teacher (Maternity Leave Replacement)

The Buckley School in New York, an all-boys K-8 + Academy Year day school, is seeking a maternity leave replacement for a third grade Associate Teacher from late August through December 2026.

This position entails splitting time between two classrooms to help maintain a positive learning environment for all students, and to ensure that the individual needs of all students are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively collaborate with the Head Teacher to plan and prepare differentiated lessons.
• Actively participate in daily classroom management and logistics.
• Communicate regularly with the Head Teachers about students’ academic progress and social/emotional growth.
• Plan and teach small group lessons across a variety of content areas.
• Participate in weekly grade level meetings pertaining to curriculum, data, student social emotional development, etc.

Please note that this is a maternity leave replacement position, and the selected candidate will be expected to work from late August through December 2026.

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Education
• Previous experience working with Lower School aged children and/or a desire to learn how to teach in primary grades
• An ability to work collaboratively
• Strong communication skills in both oral and written forms
• Strong executive functioning skills
• Proficiency in Google Drive/Google docs
