Lincoln School, founded in 1884, is an independent Early Childhood–Grade 12 Quaker school for girls in Providence, Rhode Island, with a co-ed Little School program. We are currently seeking a Director of Marketing and Strategic Communication with an ideal start date of June 15, 2026.

This 12-month, full-time role is an excellent opportunity for a visionary and innovative professional who enjoys thinking strategically and working collaboratively. Reporting to the Head of School and a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director crafts and implements the school’s strategic communications and marketing vision, and works across divisions and departments to advance the school’s mission and institutional goals.

The ideal candidate has experience in marketing and communications, preferably in a school setting, and is excited by the opportunity to engage in high-level conversations with the senior leadership team about how to advance the school’s strategic priorities and promote its value proposition to an internal and external audience. The strongest candidates will demonstrate superb communication and project management skills, as well as an understanding of how to build brand recognition, engagement, and loyalty through storytelling and experiential marketing. Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience leveraging a broad range of skills with a high degree of initiative and managing a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create and implement a comprehensive, strategic marketing plan to build brand advancement and brand recognition that results in positive net promoter, enrollment, and fundraising metrics for the school.
  • Oversee the content marketing coordinator; working closely with that individual to advance the school’s strategic initiatives related to enrollment, community engagement, and student experience.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, parents, and current students to promote the school’s mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to develop and implement a comprehensive communications plan that advances the school’s strategic priorities and promotes its value proposition to an internal and external audience.

Requirements

  • Experience in marketing and communications, preferably in a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to build brand recognition, engagement, and loyalty through storytelling and experiential marketing.
  • Strong understanding of how to leverage a broad range of skills with a high degree of initiative and manage a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
