Overview

The Kew-Forest School, a PS-12 co-educational day school founded in 1918 in Forest Hills, NY, seeks an experienced Mathematics teacher for its Middle and Upper School. We are proud to enroll an astonishingly diverse student body representative of Queens and New York City, including approximately nine percent international students. Kew-Forest students have varied cultural, racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, and many are multilingual. The Kew-Forest School promotes diversity in its hiring process and is committed to supporting its inclusive community by hiring culturally diverse faculty to work with our equally diverse students and families.

Middle School students take two years of Pre-Algebra in Grades 6 and 7, followed by Algebra 1 in Grade 8. All Upper School students are required to complete three years of Mathematics. A possible courseload includes 7th Grade Pre-Algebra, Precalculus (Standard and Honors), and AP Calculus BC. The Middle and Upper School encompasses Grades 6-12 and requires faculty to be knowledgeable about student and curricular development across these grades. Preference will be given to candidates with strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience teaching Mathematics at both divisional levels.

At Kew-Forest, our mission is to do more than just educate - it is to deeply inspire. Our school is embarking on an exciting new chapter as it enters its 108th year of operation. The individual who joins our community to fill this position must be energetic, creative, imaginative, and thoughtful in their approach to teaching and learning, and be prepared to contribute substantially to supporting students, faculty, and parents as the School enters its era of Kew-Forest 2.0.

The ideal candidate will have or be...
