Description

Gateway Charter School

Gateway Charter School provides an extraordinary learning environment where neuro-diversity is celebrated and the arts are the heartbeat of education. We serve students who learn differently, ensuring they have the tools, the stage, and the support to reach their full potential through our unique arts-integrated model.

The Vision

We are seeking a dynamic, multi-faceted Head of School to serve as our lead administrator, educator, chief storyteller, and growth strategist. This is a "hybrid" leadership role: you will be the guardian of our instructional mission while acting as the external face of the school to drive fundraising, enrollment, and community partnerships.

This is more than an administrative position; it is a platform to redefine what is possible for students who think differently. You will lead a dedicated staff and a supportive Board in a state that values charter innovation. At Gateway, we don’t just teach—we transform.

"We are looking for a leader who is as comfortable in a classroom as they are in a boardroom. You are a champion for the student who thinks differently and a strategist who knows how to find the resources that the student deserves."

The Four Pillars of Responsibility

1. Instructional Stewardship & Mission

  • Neuro-Diverse Advocacy: Ensure the school’s curriculum remains at the forefront of specialized instruction for students with challenges such as dyslexia, ADHD, and sensory processing differences.
  • Arts Integration: Lead the faculty in blending visual and performing arts into core academic subjects to unlock student potential.
  • Faculty Mentorship: Cultivate a culture of continuous professional growth for a team of creative and specialized educators.

2. Strategic Fundraising & Community Engagement: Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure resources for the school, while fostering strong relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders.

3. Enrollment & Marketing: Develop and execute a strategic enrollment plan to attract and retain students, while promoting the school’s unique mission and values through various marketing channels.

4. Board & Community Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with the school’s Board of Directors, local government officials, and community stakeholders to ensure the school’s continued growth and success.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Head of School or in a similar leadership role.
  • Strong instructional leadership and curriculum development skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, teachers, and community stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with fundraising and community engagement.
  • Strong marketing and enrollment management skills.
