THE OPPORTUNITY

Avenues is seeking a Part-Time Learning Specialist (3 days per week) to join the team of inspiring educators in the Upper Division, grades 6-12. The Learning Specialist will ensure that students have the skills and support they need to be successful.

Responsibilities

The Learning Specialist’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Student Support
• Support, supplement, and extend classroom literacy, math, and writing instruction using research based methods
• Create learning plans for students and support teachers to implement these plans
• Administer, score and analyze informal assessments
• Provide short-term interventions and support around executive functioning and study skills for students

• Support students in grades 6-12
• Develop and implement learning plans to support student success
• Administer and analyze assessments to inform instruction
• Provide short-term interventions and support around executive functioning and study skills
• Collaborate with teachers and other specialists to support student learning
