Description

St. James’ Episcopal School is seeking a full-time Physical Education and Health teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will take a student-centered approach to all school work and will use the School’s mission to support the academic, extracurricular, social, and emotional success of students.

We are looking for a PE/Health teacher who is confident in their ability to:

  • Design and implement an engaging, developmentally appropriate, vertically aligned curriculum in PE and Health for students in grades PS-6.
  • Present developmentally appropriate human development lessons to 5th-6th grade students.
  • Communicate and use clear assessment practices and provide regular feedback to students and families.
  • Regularly maintain the digital student gradebook of each student.
  • Write comprehensive narratives for each child three times a year.
  • Fulfill assigned pick-up, drop-off, lunch, and recess coverage duties.
  • Participate enthusiastically in the greater life of the school.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with a master’s preferred. Experience in the field is advantageous. Requirements
