The Episcopal School of Baton Rouge seeks a caring and innovative Kindergarten teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year to work with Kindergarten students.

The Kindergarten teacher is an integral part of the Early Childhood and Lower School academic team, working with students, teachers, and administrators to support students' creativity, academic growth, and development of physical, social, and emotional skills.

This position is a ten-month, full-time position with annual renewal to begin July 31st, 2026.

Episcopal School of Baton Rouge, a college preparatory educational community of approximately 950 students and approximately 170 professionals, includes grades PreK-3 through 12 that embraces the whole-child educational philosophy.

General Duties

  • Teach a Kindergarten class; develop and lead effective, creative, and developmentally appropriate lessons that are student-centered, meet students where they are, and incorporate a variety of instructional methods, including project-based and play-based learning.
  • Work collaboratively with other early childhood teachers to plan and implement lessons and with administrators and Early Childhood and Lower School faculty to ensure proper vertical alignment of content and skills.
  • Evaluate student learning through a variety of assessments and communicate student progress to administrators, students, and parents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in Louisiana.
  • Experience in teaching Kindergarten or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
