Technical Theatre Intern

The Technical Theatre Intern will assist in the process of building the set for our Fall musical production. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience in carpentry and construction, with potential for also contributing to some prop/scenic design elements. This position reports to the Technical Director.

This is a seasonal internship, with a schedule of 20-25 hours a week for 6-8 weeks. The stipend is $20 per hour, with a maximum stipend of $4,000.

The internship is located at Newton Country Day School, 785 Centre St. Newton, MA.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working in theatre stagecraft and a passion for technical theatre.
• Basic knowledge of carpentry and set construction techniques.
• Willingness to learn and take direction while also contributing creatively.
• Ability to work collaboratively and adhere to deadlines.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to perform labor-intensive work and lift heavy (50+ pounds) objects.
