Part-time Upper School Art Teacher

St. Mary Academy – Bay View seeks a creative, collaborative, and student-centered educator to serve as a part-time Upper School Art Teacher. The part-time Upper School Art Teacher will teach a range of visual arts courses and support students in developing both foundational and advanced artistic practices. Potential courses may include Digital Photography, Ceramics, and Foundations of Art & Design. The ideal candidate will foster artistic exploration, creative confidence, and technical skill while supporting students in a studio environment grounded in mutual respect, curiosity, and growth.

• Teach Upper School visual arts courses, could include Digital Photography, Ceramics, and Creative Process II;
• Develop engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum that encourages creativity, artistic risk-taking, and critical thinking;
• Incorporate art history, contemporary artists, and design concepts into instruction in meaningful and accessible ways;
• Foster a classroom culture that promotes respect, collaboration, and artistic growth for each student;
• Support students in the development and curation of portfolios for exhibitions, college submissions, and digital presentations;
• Prepare and display student work through matting, photographing, scanning, and exhibition preparation;
• Maintain and manage studio spaces and materials, including ceramics equipment and supplies;
