Chemistry Teacher (Anticipated) - SY 2026-2027

Fryeburg Academy, a 700-student day and boarding high school located in Western Maine/the Mount Washington Valley, seeks an innovative Chemistry teacher beginning in the fall of 2026.

This anticipated, full-time position involves teaching five classes during Semester I and Semester II as well as three classes during May Term. The last three weeks of each school year are a stand-alone period called May Term in which teachers offer non-traditional classes focusing on experiential learning or using knowledge in new contexts.

Fryeburg Academy faculty have responsibilities connected with the school's boarding program and extracurricular offerings. The Academy seeks individuals who enjoy working with high school students in and out of the classroom and who wish to strengthen its community through a commitment to various roles.

Essential Job Functions

• Teach Chemistry at both the honors and college-prep level
• Serve as an advisor for a group of 10 -14 students
• Serve on a dorm team

Qualifying Education and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in science or education is required
• Master’s degree or higher in science or education is preferred
