Position Summary:

Serving as a full-year Maternity Leave Head teacher: foster intellectual and social development; inspire trust, confidence, and motivation of St. Hilda’s and St. Hugh’s students. Manage the social environment and foster responsible, independent learners. Develop age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans for classroom implementation. Provide an encouraging and supportive learning environment.

Position Duties:

Instructional Leadership

  • Design instruction that is aligned to school-wide and individualized student learning outcomes.
  • Organize classroom systems, procedures, and management to ensure all students are fully engaged.
  • Demonstrate commitment and skills in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds.
  • Effectively collect and track critical student data and utilize data to accommodate, differentiate instruction, or modify the curriculum to achieve student success.
  • Research and use a variety of methods to engage students in the classroom.
  • Develop assessments that measure student progress; continuously use both formative and summative assessment data to refine curriculum and instructional practices. Evaluate student progress through the use of project-based learning and formative assessments.
  • Assume responsibility for the progress of all students, including developing intervention plans for students who do not meet instructional goals and for those students who exceed instructional goals.
  • Provide students and their families with regular and timely information on classroom activities and student progress; find ways to involve parents/guardians in their child’s education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and create plans.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records in Veracross on a daily basis and update grades immediately.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education or related field.
  • Proven experience in instructional leadership and classroom management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
