DescriptionKey Responsibilities
- Inspire Emerging STEAM Skills: Develop and deliver an engaging STEAM curriculum for Toddler through 2nd grade, rooted in building skills in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics, encouraging social/emotional learning and whole-child instruction.
- Foster Exploration through Open-Ended Exploration as well as Whole-Group Instruction: Create a joyful and student-centered classroom that inspires students to explore the world around them, to ask questions and find the answers, to develop a life-long love of learning, curiosity, and a growth mindset. Design a diverse and inclusive learning environment that supports every student reaching the ECDS goals for STEAM in each age group.
- Collaborate with Colleagues and Lead Tinker Lab Team: Work with fellow teachers to design interdisciplinary projects and ensure curriculum alignment. Facilitate monthly Tinker Lab team meetings to delegate material to be covered and responsibilities.
- Communicate with Families: Quarterly communication with families at each age level outlining the academic material covered in the classroom. Communicate individualized correspondence about student progress and/or challenges, as needed. Report cards are completed for each grade level at the end of both the fall and spring semesters.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in school committees, events, initiatives, and extracurricular activities. Specifically, but not limited to, Back to School Cookout, Back to School Night, Nest Picnics, Holiday Fest, WISH, PreK Graduation, and 8th Grade Graduation.
- Attend faculty meetings and engage in professional development, including and not limited to teacher training week prior to the start of school, designated PD days on the school calendar.
