La Lumiere School is excited to welcome applications for the part-time position of Biblical Literacy Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.
The Theology and Philosophy department is dedicated to introducing students to and cultivating them in the intellectual and practical aspects of religious belief and philosophical reflection.
This is accomplished by training them to engage critically and charitably with a wide array of religious and philosophical views on reality, ethics, God, and human nature.
Our Theology/Philosophy teachers guide students through substantive engagement with Scripture, theology, and the broader Christian intellectual tradition.
Students encounter primary religious texts alongside works of theology and philosophy, write and discuss ideas carefully, and develop the habits of mind necessary for serious reflection on faith and human experience.
The likely teaching assignment will include 2–3 sections of Biblical Literacy.
We are especially interested in candidates who can guide students through close reading of primary texts, facilitate rigorous and respectful dialogue across diverse viewpoints, and help students develop their own capacity for moral and theological reasoning.
