The Stony Brook School seeks a talented, mission-aligned faculty member to join our Math Department beginning in August 2026. This role is expected to center on Pre-Calculus Honors, with opportunities to teach upward through the sequence including junior- and senior-level math courses, depending on departmental needs.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (master's degree strongly preferred)
  • Three or more years of teaching experience
  • A demonstrated growth mindset and enthusiasm for developing as a teacher, mentor, and colleague
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • A desire to serve in a faith-based educational environment that emphasizes Christian scholarship and character formation
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with a team of educators
  • Expertise in planning and delivering mission-aligned curriculum and lessons with clear objectives, strong materials, and thoughtful assessments that move students toward growth and mastery
  • Experience leading student-centered math classes (including inquiry-based learning, problem-based lessons, mathematical discourse, and collaborative problem-solving) that build strong relationships and foster a love of learning.
