Description

The Lab School seeks a full-time Upper School Chemistry and/or Physics teacher beginning this August. The Upper School schedule is based on an A/B day rotation. Average class size for Science is 7-10 students. Teachers serve as advisors and meet during the final period of the school day. Integrating the arts into academic instruction is a hallmark of Lab’s curriculum.

Type of Opportunity: Position begins in late August 2026

Compensation Range: $55,000 - $100,000

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Full-time position during the school year.
  • Teaching five block classes of Science on an A/B day schedule
  • Curriculum and Instruction
  • Laboratory Management and Safety
  • Assessment and Feedback

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Deep subject mastery
  • Proficiency in Chemistry and/or Physics
  • Lab proficiency
  • Experience using PASCO SparkVue systems or willingness to learn
  • Familiarity with Google Suite
  • Differentiated instruction
  • Classroom and safety management
  • Knowledge of upper school learning management systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Strong interpersonal, written language, and communication skills
  • Resourceful, flexible, collaborative, and service oriented
