  • Direct the Concert Choir and Vocal Ensemble.
  • Teach Upper School music electives as needed.
  • Serve as the Music Director for the Upper School Spring Musical.
  • Coordinate student performances.
  • Organize and support musical benedictions and performances in Chapel.
  • Oversee day-to-day music logistics, including concerts, scheduling, and faculty coordination.
  • Advise a small group of upper school students.
  • Organize, schedule, and oversee upkeep and tuning of instruments on campus.
  • Lead music-specific department meetings and manage the department budget.
  • Handle department operations, such as student placement and teacher course assignments, with timeliness, clarity, and competence.
  • Conduct observations of Music faculty and work collaboratively with the academic dean, division head, and administrators to execute the teacher evaluation system.
  • Design and sequence the curriculum and ensure it incorporates multiple perspectives so every student sees themselves in the music.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Music Education or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in music education, preferably in a PreK-12 setting.
  • Proven track record of successful teaching, leadership, and community engagement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Experience with curriculum design and implementation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
