Description

Saddle River Day School is seeking a passionate and dedicated science teacher to lead a class in our 2026 Summer Academy. This position involves teaching a mix of Middle and Upper School students.

Key responsibilities:

  • Teach an accelerated summer class in either Biology, Chemistry, or Physics (all courses taught at both the CP and Honors levels)
  • Administer a final examination to students to ensure their successful completion of the material

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Education, or a related field
  • Have experience teaching science courses (or other relevant experience)
  • Effectively keep pace with an accelerated schedule
  • Demonstrate a passion for teaching, fostering student growth, and engaging students in scientific inquiry
  • Manage the classroom effectively, establish a positive learning environment, and maintain accurate records of student progress
  • Effectively differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of learning styles
  • Communicate effectively with families to support student success
  • Be organized, empathetic, and committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment

Compensation: Salary: $5,000 to $7,500 for full credit advancement courses (final compensation will be determined based on course enrollment)

Dates: June 22nd to July 29th (no classes July 2nd or 3rd)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 12:00pm
