A Middle School Mathematics teacher at Forsyth Country Day School provides a safe, nurturing environment for students in his or her classroom, utilizing the school’s instructional program. Responsibilities include:
Possesses a strong background in teaching mathematics.
Employs a variety of teaching methods including individual and small group instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, attitudes, and backgrounds.
Encourages an inclusive classroom that accepts the different perspectives and backgrounds of the students and elicits a greater understanding of the world around them with a global perspective.
Provides tutorials as necessary for students in need of extra academic support.
Advises a homeroom section.
Communicates regularly with parents of students including conducting conferences.
Identifies pupil needs, and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
Participates in the divisional, team, and all faculty meetings.
Maintains a positive attitude and conducts oneself professionally with respect to students, faculty, parents, and the community.
Vigorously pursues knowledge of the areas and level taught.
