Math Faculty, Upper School

Begins August 2026

Job Summary: Pembroke Hill School is seeking a full-time math instructor to join our upper school faculty for the 2026-2027 school year. The qualified candidate will be able to manage a full-time upper school teaching load (4 classes) that includes sections of both regular and honors level math, ranging from Algebra I to a variety of AP courses and beyond. Candidates must be comfortable teaching in a college preparatory environment and must demonstrate confidence, flexibility and a student-focused classroom approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach regular and honors level mathematics, ranging from Algebra I to a variety of AP courses
  • Develops and maintains long-range and daily instructional plans for each course using various teaching and assessment tools and strategies.
  • Integrates technology seamlessly into teaching strategies and practices.
  • Maintains professional competence through participation in school and/or self-selected professional growth activities.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student conduct with the cooperation of the school administration.
  • Shares in the sponsorship of student activities and participates in faculty committees.

Schedule: Teaching positions are based on the school year (August through May). During the school year, there are three school vacations - one week at Thanksgiving, two weeks in December, and two weeks in March - plus holidays, personal and sick days.

Compensation: Compensation will be based on a competitive norm influenced by area and peer schools, using years of teaching experience and the highest completed degree. Transcripts and verification of employment will be required. Benefits include health, dental, retirement match.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mathematics or related field
  • Teaching certification or licensure
  • 3+ years of teaching experience in a college preparatory environment
  • Ability to teach a variety of math courses, including AP classes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
