Position Summary

The DCDS Math Department has a long-standing tradition of providing students a rich and rewarding experience at all levels of our curriculum. With this hire, we seek someone capable of teaching all levels of our curriculum; however, preference will be given to candidates who can teach and have experience with post-Calculus and college-level Statistics courses.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide innovative, comprehensive, and content-rich instruction designed to develop critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills within the context of mathematics instruction.
  • Create varied classroom activities designed to foster student-centered learning.
  • Establish an engaging, student-centered, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and active engagement. We are a school that believes deeply in Mind, Brain, and Education science (MBE) practices, annually supports faculty professional development in this area, and is a partner school with the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning (CTTL).
  • Plan and prepare lessons in order to deliver the curriculum and enhance student understanding.
  • Create and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful, and stimulating environment which is conducive to student learning.
  • Identify clear learning objectives and outcomes for each lesson.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mathematics or related field.
  • Teaching experience in a high school setting, preferably with post-Calculus and college-level Statistics courses.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum design and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
