Description

The Packer Collegiate Institute invites applicants interested in teaching full-time Upper School History for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Start Date: August 26, 2026

Responsibilities:

This position entails teaching four sections of Upper School History and advising a small group of Upper School students. The teaching role requires close collaboration with other history teachers.

Applicants should possess:

  • Robust pedagogical content knowledge to build students’ historical thinking skills so that they may engage in inquiry, develop evidence-based arguments, and draw connections between past and present

  • Versatility in their ability to teach standard and advanced U.S and global courses

  • Experience in supporting the social and emotional well-being of a cohort of grade-level students

  • Enthusiasm for collaborative planning of curriculum with other members of a collegial department

  • A commitment to anti-bias and anti-racism work and to promoting an inclusive, just, and equitable school community

  • Proficiency in using technology in the history classroom

  • A minimum of five years of experience teaching Upper School History

  • A Master's degree is preferred
