Summary

Nashoba Brooks School seeks a full-time Grade 1 teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. The teacher is responsible for a homeroom of approximately 16 students. Candidates for this position will demonstrate a passion for teaching young children, as well as a deep understanding of the social, emotional, intellectual and physical development of Grade 1 students. The successful candidate will possess the desire to work in a dynamic, student-centered school committed to continuous learning and excellence in 21st century education. Responsibilities

As a lower school homeroom teacher, this role is responsible for:

  • Creating lesson plans and developing activities that support core academic skill development.
  • Demonstrating facility with creating integrated curriculum units reflecting multicultural perspectives.
  • Meeting and communicating with parents proactively and regularly through letters, emails, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Developing and implementing assessments to measure student progress.
  • Participating in grade-level and school-wide meetings to discuss curriculum, instruction, and student progress.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Education or related field.
  • 3+ years of teaching experience in a similar grade level.
  • Strong understanding of child development and learning theory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
