Summary

Nashoba Brooks School seeks a full-time Grade 1 teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. The teacher is responsible for a homeroom of approximately 16 students. Candidates for this position will demonstrate a passion for teaching young children, as well as a deep understanding of the social, emotional, intellectual and physical development of Grade 1 students. The successful candidate will possess the desire to work in a dynamic, student-centered school committed to continuous learning and excellence in 21st century education. Responsibilities

As a lower school homeroom teacher, this role is responsible for:

  • Creating lesson plans and developing activities that support core academic skill development.
  • Demonstrating facility with creating integrated curriculum units reflecting multicultural perspectives.
  • Meeting and communicating with parents proactively and regularly through letters, emails, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to plan and implement curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field.
  • Master's degree in Elementary Education or related field preferred.
  • Teaching certification or licensure in Massachusetts.
  • 3+ years of experience teaching Grade 1 or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
  • Passion for teaching and learning, with a commitment to creating a student-centered learning environment.
